Proposed Development

College Gardens is a major residential-led regeneration scheme delivered by the Galliard Apsley Partnership. Planning approval has been secured for the comprehensive redevelopment of the site to deliver:

  • 713 build-to-rent homes
  • 999 student beds
  • Buildings reaching up to 20 storeys
  • Extensive landscaped courtyards and green spaces
  • Improved pedestrian and cycle routes
  • A predominantly car-free environment with resident amenities at ground floor

The masterplan prioritises sustainable urban living and creates a vibrant new residential quarter for Glasgow city centre.

Consultation

The project required transforming a long-derelict site into a dense, mixed-tenure place while ensuring design quality, sustainable travel, and public realm enhancements aligned with Glasgow’s strategic regeneration goals.

Outcome

The application was approved, enabling the delivery of a landmark new residential quarter. Construction is expected to commence in late 2025, with first phase occupation targeted for 2028.
